Quite simply...Jaytoo is the entertainer's entertainer.
After throwing his first party at age 11, Jay has been hooked. After numerous house and backyard parties, Jay's first "real" gig was at the legendary Kings & Queens (Reactor) in the Spring of 1990. Jay went on to spin infamous Chicago spots such as China Club, Shelter and Lucky's before leaving the city for 2 years. Upon returning to Chicago, Jay has rocked venues such as the Spot, North Beach Club, District, Sonotheque, Circus, Biology Bar, Danny's, Alcatrazz, Wham Bongo Bar, Isaac Hayes, Chromium, Visionz, People Lounge, Double Door, The Church, Sinnibar, the New 50 Yard Line, Subterranean, Spoken Word Café, Blu Coral, Darkroom, Gin Bar, Circus, Swig, the Sutherland Ballroom, Joes on Weed St., Lan, Ai, Mestizo Café, Katacombs, Heartland Café, Religion, the Bedroom, Hard Rock Hotel, Hard Rock Café and many more.

Jay has also held residencies at places like Culture Club, Ezuli, Paje, Dragon Room, D'Vine, Zentra, Push, Mercury, Dig, Hidden Lounge, Volasati, Slick's, Black Beetle, Big Horse, Paris, Cookies Lounge, Bungalow, Joy Blue and Sylvies.

Jay has also rocked many private affairs, fundraisers, concerts, live band shows and mixed discipline performances. Places such as the Bunn Mansion, Gallery Guichard, Morseland, the African Festival of the Arts 2007 & 2008, the Architectural Artifacts Inc., Abbey Pub, the Art Institute of Chicago, ACME Galleries, Gary Comer Youth Center, the Gallery (Bloomington/Normal, Il), Elastic Arts, Debonair Social Club (Decibel), U.S. Beer Co, the RK Design Art Project, Liquid as well as In Store sets at Tony's Sports and the Silver Room.

Jaytoo has radio experience as well, serving as producer, on air talent, mixologist, host, contributor and at such places like WBML(1994,Champaign/Urbana, Il),the Down & Dirty Dusty Party on WHPK 88.5 FM (Chicago) in the late 90's and the Soul Control Radio and Lake Shore Drive Radio(2003-present) shows on WHPK as well. Jay has also contributed his mixing skills to the Panther Power Hour Show /WRFG 89.3 FM (2000, Atlanta).

Currently…Jay is working on the Adventures in Sound Radio on www.swanksociety.com, a weekly open format radio show. Jay also has a monthly residency at the Streetside Café (since 2005), as well as serving as the resident DJ/Co-Promoter of the incredible Sunday Afternoon Soul Sessions, last held at Beviamo. Jay is also the show DJ for the Primeridian and the P.C.P. All Stars, as well as musical contributor/producer. Jaytoo has also recently formatted and instructed a DJ class for youth, most recently taught at the Gary Comer Youth Center and the Bronzeville Academy.

Jaytoo's a.k.a ThedjyomamaLuv!! Style could best be summed up as thoughtful, powerful, soulful and undeniably funky. Often imitated, but never duplicated.
